Let's Dance
Don Henley said it best in 1984 –- “All she wants to do is dance!” Even if Gayatri Patel was roaming the Earth when the hit song claimed the No. 9 slot on the Billboard Top 10, she probably had no idea the song existed.

More than 25 years later, the U.S.-born dancing sensation is ready to live by the wise words of Henley the Pop Musician, with the debutant Patel playing a simple but determined dance teacher who, on her path to fame, changes course to motivate a group of underprivileged kids.

Okay, so all she wants to do is dance…and help some young kids along the way.

In finding a way to dance her way to helping out some really needy kids, Patel plays Suhani, a passionate young dancer who has dreamt of being a star her entire life. She lives with her best friend Anoushka (Sugandha Garg) and teaches dance at a rented hall owned by Sharmaji (Anjan Srivastav). All Suhani can think of is making it big by starring in a music video, with her “struggles” as a dance teacher weighing her down.
As Suhani progresses in her teachings and pursuit of stardom, she stumbles upon Aftab (Abhaas Yadav), a 14-year-old kid from the streets with little to no ambition yet is quite the gifted dancer. In fact, the only thing on Aftab’s mind is surviving the mean streets of Mumbai and spending time with some of the toughest gang kids in the city, including his brother Ali (Nikuunj Padaya) and friend Kallu (Paras Arora).

Interacting with Aftab put Suhani’s life in perspective, as she is moved by the talent these street kids possess and wants the world to give them their due. The only question is how.
The question is apparently answered by Neil (Ajay Chaudhary), who doubles as Suhani’s love interest and ticket to her realizing her dreams of stardom. Of course, as with any romance, there is a third wheel creating the proverbial “love triangle.”
That third wheel is popular video director Rehaan Jones, aka RJ, who is more determined to make Suhani the next superstar. What plays out is an intriguing journey of groovy dance moves, a battle for love and, ultimately, the power of doing good for those who are less fortunate. A heart-warming film, Let’s Dance should gain a favorable reception in India and may even win over international audiences.

Patel, who was born in the United States and nabbed titles such as Miss India Georgia and was the first runner-up at Miss India USA, is making her debut in Bollywood -– one of the first-ever American-born actresses to debut in a Hindi production.

Produced by Dr. Arvind Patel, the film has music by Vipin Mishra and another National Award winner Tarali Sharma. The musical numbers were choreographed by Longinus Fernandes (Slumdog Millionaire’s “Jai Ho”), Rajiv Goswami (Veer-Zaara and Dhoom), Pappu-Malu (Saawariya) and Saroj Khan.

Popular film editor Aarif Sheikh, who won the National Award for Samay – When Time Strikes, is making his directorial debut.

Let’s Dance opens on June 19TH and co-stars Ajay Chaudhary, Aqib Afzaal, Sugandha Garg, Asif Basra, Abhaas Yadav, Nikuunj Padaya, Paras Arora and Anjan Srivastav.
